Who doesn’t like buying a bright minded child a book? I know how that feels – I end up buying my nephews books ‘just because’ all the time. Why? Because if I ‘lend’ them my books I never get them back.
So, if you’re looking for a book for little ones this Christmas, here are my picks:
Picture Books: Goodnight Already, by Jory John and Benji Davies (Illustrator)
A grumpy bear and an insomniac duck make this one a winner with kids as well as the adult reading to them.
Honorable Mentions: What Was I Scared Of? by Dr. Seuss and Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear, by Lindsay Mattick, and Sophie Blackall (Illustrator)
Middle Schoolers: As Brave As You, by Jason Reynolds
For tween bookworms on your list, this story about Genie and his brother Ernie who leave Brooklyn to spend the summer in the country with their grandparents in Virginia is amazing reading. Genie learns about bravery and becoming a man in this enchanting book.
Honorable Mentions: Anne of Greene Gables, by L.M. Montgomery and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
Young Adult: Turtles All The Way Down, by John Green
From the author of The Fault In Our Stars this story about a lifelong friendship is a must-read for his fans.
Honorable Mentions: Fierce, by Aly Raisman and The Hate You Give, by Angie Thomas
