I have heard of several book clubs starting their year with this book, and honestly it’s been on my To-Be-Read shelf for a while.
Tara Westover tells the story of growing up on the side of a mountain and working her way from zero education to advanced degrees.
Readers describe it as a fascinating exploration of mental health issues, education laws, religion, and abuse. This book was selected as one of The New York Times Book Review’s 10 Best Books of 2018, and won the Goodreads Choice Award for Memoir & Autobiography.
It is rated 4.49 on Goodreads and 4.5 on Google, and it’s 352 pages. So many of my friends have loved this book; I’m really looking forward to reading it!
