Today I’m giving you my five picks of classic novels you should re-read right now.

I’m sure most of us have read these either in school or because they’re favorite stories. However, if you haven’t picked up a “classic” in a while I hope this list will inspire you to run for the library soon!

The Call of the Wild by Jack London

Marley and Me this ain’t!  This animal story that takes place during the Yukon Gold Rush is a perfect adventure.

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

It sure wasn’t a picnic being a kid on the street in Victorian London.  My personal favorite piece of Dickensian literature.

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

The perfect bedtime read (my four-year-old loves it). Read it for the character of Toad alone!

Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier

If you like Ms. du Maurier’s novel Rebecca, check this classic out! Same lovely style – same delicious suspense.

MY NON-FICTION PICK:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

Such a crazy book!  Gonzo journalism starts here.

I’m sure I’ve left some favorites off the list.  Sound off below and let me know your favorite classic tale.
