Marketing: Promoting Other Authors

If you haven’t tried this marketing tactic, it’s time to give it a try.

Before you have anything to self-promote, help promote others.

Maybe you could include the other author’s book in your “swag pack”, or exchange advanced reader copies to give away to your readers?

Running a joint giveaway is always a good idea, too.

Always be open to interviewing other authors and being interviewed by other authors – or speaking on an author panel.  Also, share and share and SHARE other author’s social media posts about their work.

Plus, no one wants to hear you talk about yourself all the time, and hopefully they’ll return the favor one day, when it is your turn.

Once you have a book deal, joining a debut year group can be a great way to formalize cross-promotion.

Have you tried any of these ideas?  Let us know how well they worked in the comments!
